'Tapping the Admiral' is a cracking little pub with great real ales and a neat little beer garden where you can park your cycle and listen to the tunes on warm summer Thursday evenings.
We are there every week from about 8.30 - maybe 9pm and play until we get thrown out! Usually around 12ish.
Gary Smith on National Resophonic guitar rolls in regularly as do many of the musicians from 'The Old Eagle'. Lyle on U-Bass and mandolin, Sten on mandolin, a variety of interesting folks with shakey spuds and the magical Dana on Banjo - not forgetting Hjordis hitting a variety of surfaces too! You might even see the 'Roundhouse Kick' crew meeting to nail a new tune and share a few pints.
They sure know how to look after their impressive variety of beers so roll in, enjoy the set and sup a pint of the proper stuff.
Same as The Old Eagle sessions - anyone is very welcome to bring an instrument and join in. It's an informal affair and very difficult to play a bum note!
The pub hides down a side street from Kentish Town Road at the end of Castle Road (the street opposite the Abbey Tavern). It's not hard to find and once you do - My bet is you will be hopping in regularly - it's a very friendly pub!
